Saturday 3rd August 2019
12 Noon until 5pm
What a great day the Show was this year! The weather was dry, although a bit hot at times. The big marquee was full of produce, crafts, vegetables, fruit and flowers.
There was a lovely atmosphere on the field as everyone celebrated the British summer at this big small village show! All through the afternoon there were entertainments: competitions, birds of prey, activities and games for children, miniature trains, great food, lots of chatting and lots of laughter: a teriffic celebration of community and village life. A particular highlight was James' mini-Glastonbury Main Stage with live music performances.
Please get in touch with the Secretary if you have any comments, suggestions, or want to find out how to get involved with helping with the 2019 Show next summer.
Gates open at 12.00, and the barbeque and Tea Tent will be serves refreshments and lunches until late in the day. The Produce Marquee opens at 1.00pm and the afternoon proceeds with a swing!
Whether it is a cup of tea and crab sandwich in the traditional tea tent, or a cheeseburger with a glass of local ale or cider, no one need go hungry or thirsty. The produce tent hosts an array of local growers' vegetables, fruits and flowers, alongside home - made cakes, jams and wines. There are sporting activities which will include the Tug of Fun and the Loddiswell Mile. Through the afternoon there is a busy programme of activities, entertainment and music as well as plenty of time to chat, laugh, and relax
Over the years, the judges have come to expect some very high quality exhibits at Loddiswell, and we are frequently complemented about many of the classes.
